Composite Technologies, since its inception 15 years ago, has become an important distributor in Southern Africa for a wide range of products ranging from avionics to composite aircraft.

Composite Technologies offers the latest in portable and compact panel mount transceivers and transponders, GPS receivers, personal locator beacons, headsets, flight helmets, portable oxygen systems, aircraft covering materials, sun visors, small wheels and hoisting equipment.

With over 30 years of experience in radio, electronics and aircraft, all products are supported from in-house service facilities. Wiring harnesses and antenna designs are developed for new aircraft types, allowing both OEMs and amateur builders to order complete proven communication systems. For ground-to-air and airport apron communications, the company offers complete packages including VHF base stations, hand held radios and antenna installations.

Peter and Fran How have decided to retire from main line business and we are announcing a change of ownership of Composite Technologies.

Composite’s product lines and staff will, from 1st March 2009, be transferred to Mike Blyth’s new rising star in Southern Africa, Comet Aviation Supplies in Germiston.

Peter will provide on-going technical support through Comet Aviation Supplies & will continue to handle gliding products from Stemme, AMS Flight and LxNavigation under a new name.

With this acquisition, Comet Aviation Supplies will become South Africa’s largest supplier of product to general aviation.
